Safeguarding Your Body Accessories While Travelling
Most travel books and websites will advise you to leave jewellery at home if you go on a holiday, most especially the expensive ones. If, however, you really want to accessorise yourself while touring exciting places of the world, you can do so by keeping the following tips in mind.
First off, if you are bringing along really expensive trinkets, be sure to have them insured. Once you have done that, it is now time to invest in a reliable case, preferably one that has a strong lock. If the baubles you are bringing though are not really worth hundreds or thousands, a simple jewellery case or even a zip lock bag would do. Just make sure that when you put the items inside the jewellery box, they would not get tangled or damaged. It is also wise to make a list of what accessories you are bringing so that you can easily determine later on if something is missing or not.
After this, you should take time to call your accommodation if they offer a vault where you can place your valuables. If not, then you might want to rethink where you should be staying. For those who do not want to take advantage of a hotel safe, just make certain that your room is secure enough. For those who want to wear accessories every day of the trip, it is advisable that you don on only sturdy ones. This means that clasps should be strong; strings should not easily break; and so on.
All in all, travelling with your body accessories in tow is easily done as long as you take their safety seriously.
